Jon Koobations affectionate personality, creative innovation, dedication to tradition and excellence in consistency are the reasons Jon’s Bear Club has been a San Joaquin Valley jewel, located in the quaint town of Reedley, since 1973. You will feel at home in this traditional dinner house because of the its warm and comfortable atmosphere surrounded by contemporary art by Leroy Neiman.

Jon serves food that is as unpretentious as it is delicious. Menu favorites include his grandmother’s famous Armenian Shish Kebab to gourmet treasures like vanilla bean butter poached lobster tails and his signature house made ice cream. From the friendly staff to the impeccable service capped off by the freshest food prepared in the finest manner by Jon, who was named the 2001 California Restaurant Association Chef of the Year, you will be compelled to return many times for additional memorable and distinctive dinning experiences.

Jon’s passion for cooking started in early childhood as he honed is natural talent at home alongside family members. He loved to experiment with favorite family recipes add his own twist of unique ingredients. This passion grew into a career as executive chef and restaurant owner. Sharing his passion with others began his lifelong commitment to learn and grow his professional culinary skills.
